Fall soccer is coming to an end. This week is my outdoor soccer tournament. We play on Monday, then we keep playing the week out until we lose 2 games or we go all the way and win the whole thing. I'm hoping to win the whole thing. Last season we made it to the championship game and, because of refs that DID NOT know what they were doing, we lost by one point. We took the throw in and the ball didn't make it on the field before touching the ground. The right call would have been to let us throw again, but since the ref didn't know the rules, he let the other team throw-in. And, because we were all standing there arguing with him to let us have the ball again, like the rules state, they scored a goal from that throw-in. It upset quite a few of us on the team. The husbands were even in on it, too. I don't know whether that ref was fired or he quit, but he never came back the next season. It's very frustrating to have refs, who don't know the game, calling the shots. I'm sure they are told to stick by their call, even though they realize afterwards they were wrong. Very frustrating!
Anyway, we are going to kick some butt this week and win it all!
