So far, the diet and exercise is going great. Well, I should say the exercise is going great. I’m usually better at working out then sticking to a diet. But, I’ve made a goal to work out 8 times a week and my first week I completed 7. I’ve had many people ask me what I do and how I can fit in all those workouts in one week. Well, it takes some creativity, support and a lot of patience from my family. I say creativity because on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s I lift weights downstairs with Kaman. It’s kind of hard to stay focused when you have your 2 year old climbing on you, driving his cars into your foot (while trying to stay in a very painful lunge), and having a marble or toy fly past your head. Needless to say, I enjoy my workouts at the gym more. But I love the Cathe Friedrick (
cathe.com) workout tapes so I’m trying to work through them at home.
For those of you that want to know what workouts I do, here’s my routine….
Monday – Spin class (9:00am)
Tuesday – Upper body w/ weights/abs (10:00am)
Run/Walk 4 miles (anytime I can find before dinner)
Wednesday – Kickboxing class/abs (9:00am)
Thursday – Lower body w/ weights (10:00am)
Run/walk 4 miles (anytime)
Friday – Boot camp class/abs (9:30am)
Saturday – Kickboxing class/abs (10:30am)
The workouts are fun for me, but it’s the eating that I struggle with.
If anyone has suggestions on what foods worked for them, I would love to hear it. I’m far from a nutritionist and I hate spending a lot of time on cooking, so it has to be something fast or something I can make ahead and then heat up fast.
What works for you?

Okay, you are amazing! I'm feeling great if I exercise even twice a week! You are officially my role model!
Holly you amaze me, how in the world do you stay so dedicated. I thought I did good at working out 4 times a week and your doubling me. AMAZING!!!
Hey Holly,
I just got off the phone with your husband. Hope you weren't too hard on him. He didn't drop the ball!
I'm excited to keep up on your blog now. You are officially on my google reader!
I'm so inspired by your work out routine. I do 6 days a week and am on a "strict" (meaning it should be strict, but I am weak) diet. I'm trying to only eat 1200 calories a day. I do lots and lots of fruit (which is so hard this time of year). No sugar (ah hem hem- I mean very little!) and no bread most days. I have to do all things in moderation. I have found that I can slack off on the weekend (fri, sat, and sun) and be awesome mon-thur and still lose weight. That is totally doable for me.
Anyway, sorry for the long comment and not sure why I am giving YOU advice on this, since you have a killer bod and I'm still working on mine!
