soccer time...

Soccer is in full swing again. Danielle now has practices 2 times a week. Ashley has them once a week and I now have 2 games a week. Danielle is improving quite a bit. She really enjoys playing and she wants to improve. Which I think is what's important; you have to want to improve. She's more excited about having better players on her team, too. She got very frustrated last year with her team mates. You can practice and practice and try your hardest, but in the end soccer is a team sport not an individual game. I can understand her frustration when you work the ball and make it up the field just to pass it and have that person lose it. All of your work is for nothing. You have to be able to trust the other players ability to continue your hard work. Last year Danielle's team never won a game. And that can be very disheartening. I think they only scored 1 or 2 goals the whole season, too. Danielle's coach really wasn't teaching them what they needed to learn. This year they had asked me if I wanted to take his position and coach her. I at first agreed and then realized I wouldn't be able to squeeze 2 practices and 1 game a week in my schedule. I don't think I would have been the best coach either, so I figured they should try to find someone who knew more about what they were doing. And I'm really impressed by the coaches she has this season. I've gone to all of her practices, so far, and stayed to watch what they are teaching her. I'm much happier with the coach and the assistant coach, they seem to know what they are doing. i can't wait for the fist game to see if they use what they've learned.

Anyway, Ashley is doing great, too. She had her first practice on Monday and her games should be soon. She is going to be a great soccer player, too. She absolutely loves to play.

Kaman is doing well. He is being his own 2 year old self. We are trying to get him to stop the hitting thing, though. If we tell him no he has a tendency to hit you. And it's not a soft hit either. He's got a sweet personality and he is such a cutie. It's quite a bit of a difference raising a boy then a girl, too.

More later....
